Our organic produce - introduction

Sleekburn HTU sells plants and vegetables direct to the public direct from our site at Earth Balance. Please use the Earth Balance service entrance – not the main car park.

We are also selling  - on an occasional basis – from a stall at Merley Croft, Morpeth.

On May 31st 2002 we achieved full organic status, following a two year period of conversion. Since then our produce has been certified organic, using the Soil Association symbol:

Vegetables: In 2008 we are continuing to grow organic vegetables and soft fruit in two large fields. We are continuing to sell from the Earth Balance site (directly from the HTU – come to Earth Balance service entrance), off site from places like Merley Croft, Morpeth, to retailers like Moorhouse Farm, Stannington and through orders and deliveries.

Plants: We also produce a wide range of plants, including herbs, annuals, herbaceous perennials and shrubs. These are all grown in organic compost.

Opening times:

We are normally open Monday – Friday, from 10.30am – 3.30pm

We open occasionally at weekends, and advertise these days here and in the local press.
